Lynn Neuman, director of Artichoke Dance Company, is a national leading ecoartist. Working at the intersection of performance innovation, environmental activism, community building and civic engagement, her groundbreaking work inspires people to gather around pressing issues, build community, create art, and enact change. Her performance works have been presented in public parks, on beaches, along rivers and oceans, and on streets, and was recently featured in the Cooper Hewitt Museum’s design triennial and Waterfront Alliance’s Art at the Blue Line Festival. She is the only choreographer to receive a Marion International Fellowship for the Visual and Performing Arts. Recently, her work has been featured in the New York Times, Los Angeles Times, Dance Magazine, NPR and Citizen’s Climate Radio. She serves on 350 Brooklyn’s Steering Committee, the Gowanus Neighborhood Coalition for Justice and is a regional organizer for Global Water Dances.
