ODNR owns and manages state parks, state forests, state nature preserves and wildlife areas. We license all hunting, fishing and watercraft; oversee and permit all mineral extraction, monitor dam safety, manage water resources and serve as the second largest Law Enforcement presence in the State of Ohio.

We are accepting applications for a Grants Coordinator 1 within the Division of Real Estate, headquartered in Franklin County within the state of Ohio. The work location address is: 2045 Morse Rd. What you will do:

Establish, track and monitor expenditures, appropriation balances and budget for grants using personal computer.
Provide assistance to division and program personnel regarding funding sources, grant rules and regulations for individual grant programs.
Review all aspects of grants to ensure compliance with regulations and policies.
Conduct on-site field reviews and post completion site inspections of grant projects.
Provide high quality customer service functions for both internal and external customers.

Qualifications

3 courses or 9 months of experience in contract and grant preparation or in proposal writing AND 1 course or 3 moths of experience in accounting.

-Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above.

Knowledge of: proposal writing or contract; grant preparation; budgeting; bookkeeping; accounting; agency policies & procedures (state, ODNR, fiscal)*; public relations; government structure (federal, state)*. Skilled in: word processing (Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, Access, COGNOS, Ohio Administrative Knowledge System (OAKS-FIN)*); equipment (calculator, computer). Ability to: define problems, collect data, establish facts & draw valid conclusions; calculate fractions, decimals & percentages, prepare meaningful, concise & accurate reports; prepare & deliver speeches before specialized audiences & general public; gather, collate & classify information about data, people & things; handle sensitive inquiries from & contacts with officials & general public.
