Volunteer Opportunity - Event Waste Sorting Team

The PCMA Convening Leaders conference is projected to have 3700 attendees. Meals will be on a flow and people will eat and then bring their service items to a Sustainability Station to be sorted. This is a high-end event and we (staff + volunteers) will be doing the sorting for the attendees. There will be Sustainability Stations on the show floor and attendees will hand their items to us and we will place them in the appropriate compost/recycling/landfill container. This level of service accomplishes two goals, it increases the diversion rate by taking the public out of the equation, and it makes the attendees feel special because they are receiving an upgraded level of service. Achieving both goals will reflect very positively on Columbus and will drive increased convention activity in the city.
