Program Coordinator-Student Center Operation and Programming:

This position functions in alignment with The Ohio State University’s Nine Dimensions of Wellness: Physical, Social, Emotional, Environmental, Intellectual, Creative, Career, Spiritual, and Financial Wellness. The Program Coordinator works with OSUM Director of Student Life/Diversity and Inclusion and MTC Executive Director of Student Success and Engagement and other faculty and staff from both institutions, as appropriate, to develop, plan, and coordinate programs and schedule events for both institutions including intramurals, recreational activities, fitness programs, environmental programming initiatives, health and wellness initiatives, and diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives. Coordinates the operation of the Alber Student Center, athletic fields, and campus garden. Works with the public safety officer and facilities personnel, while adhering to MTC and OSUM policies, to ensure that the overall safety and health standards, security for the Center, operations, events, programs, including campus garden are met. Hires, trains, and supervises student workers. Manages allotted budget provided by both institutions to support Alber Student Center programming and facilities. Supports new and existing Marion campus student clubs and organizations. Participates in OSUM and MTC’s orientation sessions. Supports Student Services and Student Life activities at both institutions. Collects, maintains, and analyzes data to evaluate effectiveness of Alber Student Center student programs. Collaborates with OSUM and MTC Communications Offices to develop and provide Alber Student Center informational materials and to develop and manage Alber Student Center websites. Serves as liaison to campus café food service. Serves as liaison to MTC’s E-Sports Coordinator. Serves on the Marion Campus Activities Advisory/Steering Committee, OSUM Sustainability Committee, and other MTC and OSUM campus, community, and university committees as appropriate.

Required Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree in an appropriate field or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Master's degree in Student Affairs, Higher Education, Outdoor/Environmental Recreation, and Sports/Recreation Management, or related field desired. Previous experience in higher education highly desired. Three to five years of work or equivalent experience in supervisory, budget planning, and/or strategic planning experience and strong customer service experience desired. Must be CPR, AED, and first aid certified within 30 days of employment and maintain certifications as required. Ability to work independently and complete projects with minimal direction and oversight needed. May need to work an irregular schedule to ensure coverage.
