Victoria Abou-Ghalioum (she/her/s), doctoral student, School of Environment and Natural Resources at Ohio State

Victoria is a climate justice activist and doctoral student at Ohio State’s School of Environment and Natural Resources. My research focuses on centering issues of social and racial justice in the mainstream environmental movement at local and global scales. As a scholar-activist, I aspire to direct an organization which builds a regional climate justice coalition by strengthening place and identity-based community bonds. Currently, I work with grassroots organizations and local chapters of national organizations such as the Graduate Student Labor Coalition, the Sunrise Movement Columbus Hub, and others. I believe, to be impactful climate activists, we must stand with racial, gender, and class movements for change.
