Event Description

This July, Antioch College is offering an intensive three-weekend EcoFarm & Food Foresting Certificate Program on our campus farm in Yellow Springs, Ohio. Whether you are tending a few pots on a balcony, planning a backyard garden, contributing to a community garden, or dreaming of a small farm, this program offers hands-on learning in regenerative agriculture, food forest stewardship, and ecological design.

You will learn how to assess soil health and build organic matter, practice nutrient cycling and composting, grow specialty crops for market gardens, propagate native plants and create pollinator habitat, and plan gardens or food forests using permaculture principles. You will leave with practical skills you can apply wherever you grow.

You can register for one weekend, the full three-weekend series, or earn an accredited certificate by completing all three weekends plus a 300-hour co-op apprenticeship on a local or regional farm guided by Antioch co-op faculty.

Program schedule:
Weekend 1 (July 11–12): Saturday & Sunday 9am–5pm
Weekend 2 (July 18–19): Saturday & Sunday 9am–5pm
Weekend 3 (July 25–26): Saturday 9am–5pm, Sunday 9am–3pm
Campus housing is available for $100 per weekend.
